Katie Talbot

Katie Talbot was raised on Maui and has studied with The Maui Academy of Performing Arts since the age of 4. Starting to work as a Dance Captain (teaching assistant) at a young age she began teaching independently at the age of 15. While attending college at UH Manoa she studied ballet with their dance program and was given opportunities to take classes with world renowned choreographers Brian Friedman, Mia Michaels, Mandy Moore, Wade Robson and many others. After moving back to Maui to continue her schooling, she was a dancer with MAPA's Adult Dance Company "Ampersand" for 2 seasons. Continuing to give back to the community and the arts, Katie has done work with both Baldwin and King Kekaulike's High School Theatre and Dance programs and has been the Maui High School Show Choir Choreographer and Coach for 5 years. Although being a dance educator has always been Katie's passion, this is not the only way she gives back to the Maui Community. She has worked at the Maui Memorial Medical Center for 10 years and practices as Miss Katie, RN, BSN. "Teaching dance fuels my soul...I love watching the kids learn, grow and develop their own passion for the art form. Dance not only teaches technique and skill. It teaches confidence, respect for others,self-motivation, dedication, time-management and many other important values and life skills. I would not be the person I am today without the students I've had." -Miss Katie Talbot
