FACILITY RULES & PROCEDURES
THE MDM STUDIOS
We take special care to ensure the MDM studio remains a safe and clean facility for everyone. We ask that you treat the studio like you would your home (because for many of you, it is your home away from home). Keep in mind that there are surrounding businesses whom we share the building, parking lot, and even some walls with.
STUDENT BREAK ROOM
Thank you for respecting the student break room and study areas by not using it as a waiting area. Students who use the break room are asked to respect other students by keeping their personal belongings tidy, cleaning up food trash, and using respectful manners and language at all times.
BATHROOM & DRESSING ROOMS
MDM has a single bathroom. We ask you to make bathroom visits quick and utilize one of our two dressing rooms for changing instead the bathroom.
CLASS VISITORS
For the safety of our students and to fulfill our legal responsibilities, we are unable to permit visitors in the classroom during class sessions. Students should refrain from inviting siblings, relatives, or friends to their classes. MDM does not offer in-studio observation days.
VIEWING WINDOWS
Each studio is equipped with a small viewing window. While getting to watch your dancer in action is a bonus, we ask that you use these viewing windows in a respectful manner. Promoting independence and confidence are important parts of dance class, especially for younger students. Please refrain from distracting the class.
PARKING LOT SAFETY
When entering and exiting our parking lot, we kindly ask everyone to exercise extreme caution. Please be mindful of the presence of children. It is essential to park only in designated parking spaces and avoid parking in areas that are not intended for vehicles. Additionally, we kindly request that you refrain from idling your car if parked in close proximity to the building or its windows. Please ensure your child can safely get from the car to the studio.
DROP OFF & PICK UP
The studio will open 15 minutes prior to the first class of the day. Please do not drop off your child before the studio opens. Please arrive 5-10 minutes before your class begins, prepared and ready to dance. To ensure the safety of our young dancers, children under the age of 10 should be picked up promptly after their class. For students aged 10 and older, we kindly request that they are picked up no more than 10 minutes after their class ends. The studio will close promptly after the last class of the day. There will be a 5 minute grace period for late pick up, after which a $1/minute fee will be charged to your account. Please understand that we are unable to assume responsibility for students before or after their scheduled classes, so it's essential for parents to ensure timely drop-off and pick-up. We understand that unforeseen circumstances or emergencies may arise, causing delays. If you find yourself in such a situation, please contact the studio immediately. Our priority is to keep your child calm and safe until they can be collected. Your communication is crucial, and we appreciate your cooperation.
EMERGENCY EVACUATION
While we have never experienced an emergency evacuation at our studio, we prioritize preparedness and the safety of our students and staff. In the event of an emergency, students will calmly and quietly evacuate in single file to the designated safe area. Our dedicated teachers will take attendance to ensure everyone's safety. Students and teachers will return to the building only when the all-clear signal is given, indicating that it is safe to do so. Parents will be informed if such an emergency occurs.
LOST & FOUND
Please make sure to label all your child's belongings with their name. We will make every effort to locate and return lost items; however, we kindly ask for your understanding that we cannot be held responsible for any items your child brings to class. Items in the lost and found will be held for two weeks. If you think you have lost something, please inform administration. MDM takes no responsibility for any stolen or misplaced property on the studio premises and we encourage our families to avoid bringing valuable items into the studio where possible.
FOOD & DRINK
Only water is permitted inside the dance studios. Consumption of other drinks an food is limited to the break room only. Please clean up after yourself.
POLICIES
ILLNESS
The health and well-being of our students and staff are of utmost importance to us. We kindly request your cooperation in keeping our dance community healthy. If your child exhibits any of the following symptoms, we kindly ask that you keep them at home to prevent the spread of illness:
- Nasal discharge that is green or yellow
- Complaints of ear pain
- Consistent cough
- Severe sore throat
- Pink, burning, itching, or discharging eyes
- Diarrhea or vomiting
- Fever
If these symptoms or any other contagious conditions are observed in your child during a class, we will promptly contact you to arrange for their immediate pick-up. Your child must be fever free for 48 hours before returning to class. Furthermore, if there are any lingering signs of illness such as glassy or watery eyes, listlessness, or drowsiness, we kindly request that you keep your child at home. This precaution will ensure that the illness has fully passed, and your child will be well enough to fully participate in class activities the following week.
MEDICAL INFORMATION & EMERGENCIES
Your child's well-being is of utmost importance to us. Please inform the director and teachers of any medical conditions, life threatening allergies, learning disabilities, or medications your child may require. Our teachers are trained professionals who are eager to work with all children, and the more we know about your child, the better we can provide a fulfilling dance experience. Rest assured that all information regarding our students is treated with the utmost confidentiality. In the event of a medical emergency, MDM staff will attempt to contact the parent/guardian of the dancer. If the parent/guardian cannot be reached in a timely manner or if the instructor deems the emergency serious or life threatening, MDM staff will call 911 to obtain medical care.

The information we require from you includes your name, address, telephone numbers, email addresses, medical information and perhaps credit card or bank details. We only collect information directly from our students or their parent/guardians primarily for the purpose of providing services and processing transactions. We may occasionally use your information to promote and market to you information which we consider may be of interest to you unless you contact us and tell us not to do so. We will never sell or pass on any of your information to third parties unless required by government authorities or in the event of debt recovery. Any information passed on will be done so with appropriate privacy and confidentiality protection. Information is stored securely in paper or electronic form and is accessible only by authorized personnel.
REGISTRATION FEE
An annual, non-refundable, $35 (single student) $50 (family) registration fee will be charged upon enrollment. If a student withdraws from classes and re-enrolls at a later date, they will be charged another registration fee.
BILLING
Billing information for autopay will be collected at time of registration. MDM uses a secure third party online payment processor. Transactions are processed by e-payment via ACH, credit or debit card. We encourage you to include both a primary and secondary payment method in the case of declined transactions. MDM will gladly accept cash or check payments in person, at the studio. Please ensure your payment method and billing information is up to date. In the event that your payment method declines due to insufficient funds or expiration, you will be informed via email and prompted to update your information in the parent portal.
PAYMENTS & FEES
Class fees are posted on the 21st of the month prior to which amounts billed are due. ie. September tuition fees will be posted on the 21st of August. Cash or check payments must be received by the 25th of the month to avoid e-payment draft. Autopay is processed and statements are emailed on the 28th of the month. A $25 fee will be charged for late payments, declined transactions, and returned checks.
REFUNDS
Tuition, registration, and costume fees are NON-REFUNDABLE. If a student needs to withdraw from classes due to medical reasons or other special circumstances, accounts may be credited upon submission of a physician's note or meeting with their parent/guardian. Refunds are only available in certain circumstances and will be evaluated on a case by case basis. A $10 processing fee will be charged for refunds. Notification to withdraw from class must be received in writing by the 15th of the month in order to stop tuition payment for the following month. No exceptions. There is no refund for missed classes.
ABSENCES & MAKEUP CLASSES
We understand that unforeseen circumstances may cause a student to miss a class. To ensure they don't miss out on the valuable learning experience, we offer the opportunity to make up the missed class with a similar class. A request for makeup can be submitted in your parent portal. Makeup classes are set by age. A total of 3 makeups per class, per session is permitted.
ATTENDANCE
Regular attendance is essential for continuous progress and growth. When preparing for a performance, choreography will be taught and rehearsed. It's crucial for children to feel completely confident with the choreography and their performance. Missing classes during this period could lead to frustration for the students, their teachers, and their classmates. If necessary, MDM instructors may use their discretion to reevaluate a student’s level of participation in a performance due to excessive absences.
TARDINESS
Dance is a physical activity that requires a properly warmed-up body to ensure safe movement. Students who arrive late miss out on the essential warm-up exercises, which may increase the risk of injury. To prioritize the safety and well-being of our students, those arriving more than 10 minutes late may be asked to observe the class. We want all our dancers to enjoy their dance journey while staying safe and injury-free.
TRIAL CLASSES
Students can take a trial class before deciding to enroll and to ensure proper class placement. Trials are only available for classes with openings. Students are permitted to one free trial class. Trials beyond the first free class will be charged.
MEDIA
As part of your registration, you will have read and signed a media waiver allowing us to use images and video footage of your student for advertising and promotional purposes. Media and photos are used for marketing purposes only and will not be distributed. Members can withdraw their media and photo agreement at any time via the parent portal.
