Facility Rules

See our new Kahului location and business hours here.

We are overjoyed to welcome you to our new facility! With a brand new place to call home, we encourage everyone to be mindful of and adhere to the studio guidelines so that we can continue providing this amazing space for years to come.

  • Students and families may use the facilities on days when they attend class only

  • Students may be accompanied to the studio by no more than 2 people

  • Parents are welcome to wait in the lobby during their child’s class. Please be mindful to keep conversation at a conservative volume while classes are in session.

  • In order to extend the life of our studio floors, street shoes should not be worn into the studio. Dancers should have designated shoes that are only used for class which they put on after entering the studio.

  • No food or chewing gum allowed in the studio

  • Only sealed, sweat proof water bottles are allowed in the studio

  • Students should utilize the dressing rooms to change. Please refrain from changing in the restroom.

  • Please refrain from loitering after your class or classes have concluded

  • Cell phones must be turned off or on silent in the studio. No cellphone use during class.

Drop off & Pick Up

The studio will open 15 minutes prior to the first class of the day. Please do not drop off your child before the studio opens. Children under the age of 7 may not be left unattended in the lobby. MDM is not responsible for unsupervised children. The studio will close promptly after the last class of the day. There will be a 5 minute grace period for late pick up, after which a $1/minute fee will be charged to your account. A front desk staff member will be present everyday to address questions and assist with enrollment or billing. Should you need to speak with an instructor, please leave a note at the front desk or email info@momentumdancemaui.com. We will be sure to get back to you in a timely manner.

Parent Observation

Each studio at MDM is equipped with a small viewing window. While getting to watch your dancer in action is a bonus, we ask that you use these viewing windows in a respectable manner. Promoting independence and confidence are important parts of dance class, especially for younger students. Please refrain from distracting students or standing outside the viewing window for the entire duration of a class. MDM does not offer in-studio observation days.

Dress Code

Our Dress Code Policy is detailed here. Please pay close attention to the apparel, shoe, and hair requirements for each style of dance. If students are not dressed appropriately, they will receive one verbal warning. For future classes, they may be asked to sit and observe the class (while taking notes) if their lack of preparedness prohibits their ability to participate. Our dress code requirements reflect our desire to promote a class-act, distraction free environment that promotes the visibility of the lines of the body for the varying styles of dance.

Behavior Policy

At Momentum Dance Maui, we believe in creating a safe and positive environment where dancers can thrive. We employ our teachers, dancers and their families to conduct themselves in a manner that is reflective of MDM’s Mission and Core Values.

  • Insubordination to instructors or persons in charge

Medical Needs & Attention

Any medical conditions, behavioral concerns, allergies, or disabilities should be disclosed on the student’s profile in the parent portal. It is important that we are aware of your child's needs so that we can effectively lend assistance if needed. In the event of a medical emergency, MDM staff will attempt to contact the parent/guardian of the dancer.  If the parent/guardian cannot be reached in a timely manner or if the instructor deems the emergency serious or life threatening, MDM staff will call 911 to obtain medical care.
